Disseminating Information
Information regarding the Consortium is available through the following:
- Website: A visitor to the CFG website has access to the database through interfaces for viewing Consortium Data and Specialty Databases that serve as portals for searching detailed information from the public and CFG databases. Program participants have access to the entire database, and the public has access to the subset of information that has been publicly disclosed. In addition, there is a wealth of information on static pages including availability of resources, online application for resources and membership, updated organizational, and administrative and operational details of the program.
- Annual Progress Report: The Principal Investigator submits an overall annual progress report to NIGMS. Most of the report is intended for public dissemination and is posted on the public website. The full report also contains confidential evaluations and recommendations from the Steering Committee and Advisory Committee, which is intended only for Participating Investigators, Core Directors, and NIGMS program officials.
- Journal Publications: The Steering Committee strongly encourages the publication and public disclosure of program information. The rate of new publications involving CFG resources is increasing as a natural consequence of novel findings from the use of those resources. Research articles are more than doubling each year, with the majority of publications appearing in top-ranked journals. The contributions of the CFG are also being acknowledged and the evolving paradigms of glycan-binding proteins being documented in reviews written by Participating Investigators.
